Hmmm. Does anyone like jet lag? I know I sure don't! I even tried to sleep with a sleeping pill and still I'm up at weird hours! Please tell me that this will subside soon ; / Since I'm up at the crack of dawn, I've been looking around our quiet house and mentally coming up with a list of things that we still need to get to make our house feel like a home.
1. Trashcans for each bathroom
2. Lights on each nightside next to our bed
3. Recycling trashcan
4. Carpets/rugs!
5. One large dresser to put in our room from Ikea (click here to see) I'm kind of in a dilemma about this one cause either option doesn't match our bedroom furniture. I'd go with white but the bedroom set in our guest room is white so again...not too sure if I should get the black/brown option. Advice please!
6. DVD bookcases (I don't even want to know how many DVDs Mike and I have combined)
7. House plants
8. Drinking glasses...we never thought to get any!
9. Two cushion couch to match our three cushion (click here to see) For you experienced home owners, is it that important to get sleeper couch versus a regular one? We have one extra bedroom with a bed but I'm still curious where we should invest our money. We also have a little futon couch that is going in Mike's infamous 'man cave' (which looks quite cute actually...but I don't think he'd like me to say that his manly cave is cute : )
10. And lastly, A WOMAN's TOUCH on everything!
After having the essentials, I want to make our house look nice as well. Since all the walls are stark white, I have such a desire to paint! I know that is a huge hassle and I should just stop while I am ahead but what do you think of the idea of just painting one wall in each room? My sister did that in her apartment and it really stood out and gave her room an underlying theme. I will have to paint the walls once we move out but bascially I'd have to paint 4 walls and not 4 rooms so that won't be too much work.
As far as my adventure in Japan goes...Mike's taking me off base today so I'll let you know of the things I saw in my next post!
